Said to have found its origins in Northern India 5000 years ago, this exercise form is popular all over the world now.
#YogaDay International Day of Yoga ( #अंतर्राष्ट्रीय_योग_दिवस )or commonly and unofficially referred to as #Yoga_Day, is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015.The #InternationalDayOfYoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. An #International_Day_Of_Yoga was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 11 December 2014.[1] Yoga is a physical, mental, and/or spiritual practice attributed mostly to India. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his UN address suggested the date of 29th June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares special significance in many parts of the world.
The 2024 theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” highlights how yoga not only enhances personal health but also contributes to social well-being.
